Hello Cannabis! That’s not just an enthusiastic welcome to legal weed in Canada, it’s the name of a privately owned cannabis store in Dundas, Ontario.
Situated beside The Beer Store, the sunny yellow marquee announces your arrival at this recreational retailer. Just don’t get it confused with the medical cannabis clinic and education centre that shares the same name. Both locations are situated just a stones throw apart but only the store with the yellow sign sells cannabis.

Quick Hit
From the name of the store to the smiling speech bubble logo, this cannabis store feels ultra-approachable through and through.
The operator (working in partnership with the license-holder won through the province’s lottery to authorize private cannabis retailer) is the same as the neighbouring medical clinic, only this outlet deals specifically in recreational varieties while the other location mainly dispenses information for patients.
The Vibe
Greetings from friendly staff at the front desk (as opposed to tough-looking security guards) instantly puts consumers at ease from the moment they walk through the door.
Local artwork hanging in the reception area makes the space feel like a community hub while further inside, customers are invited to browse the sales floor showcasing cannabis products, accessories, recipe cards, and other informative ephemera.
Customer Service
Featured strains are available to smell and inspect in sensory jars and product displays are seemingly grouped according to brand.
Shoppers can place orders at the counter or consult with any of the tablet-wielding staff in the yellow shirts.

Products & Pricing
The selection of cannabis spans the gamut of potency and price points while vapes, glass pipes, papers and trays round out a selection of accessories.
Expect to find the usual roster of cannabis brands (think: Aurora, Tweed, etc.) along with some points of local pride. It’s the first store I’ve seen, so far, that carries Gage Cannabis, including a sampler-pack featuring four strains from the small batch producer located in nearby Hamilton, ON.
What You Should Know
The store is accessible and parking is plentiful, though motorists may have to contend with The Beer Store traffic during peak periods. Don’t forget your ID, only 19+ individuals are permitted in store. And, don’t forget your empties: the store collects used cannabis packaging to recycle through the Tweed-TerraCycle initiative.
