Move over (and back, and over, and back), Oscillating Fan For Your Home, because the Next Big Thing to watch when you don’t feel like watching anything at all has arrived, and it’s pulling out of the station to take you on a blissfully low-key adventure to Norway courtesy of the country’s appropriately-titled Slow TV.
Norway has an entire channel devoted to relaxing television shows, featuring such low-octane chill rides as knitting, lecturing, and boat trips. The above video, which virtually transports viewers from Bergen to Oslo, has been viewed nearly 800,000 times as of this writing. From its departure from the Bergen station to its passage through picturesque countryside, tunnels, mountain passes, sleepy towns, and snowy vistas, the jaunt is suitable background fodder for your lazy weekend. Pick up a nice relaxing strain, kick up your feet, and ponder your life’s actual journey as you listen to a soothing female voice intermittently announce upcoming stops on your pretend one.
