Confirmations and Explanations: Spuds MacKenzie was the original party dog, a
bull terrier who derived extraordinary pleasure from partying with vibrant young people while in the presence of copious amounts of Bud Light in the 1980s. Sometimes Spuds wore Wayfarers, shades he wore because his future appeared so bright. College students had posters of this dog on their walls. Seriously.
