Dockside in Fremont: RETAIL SALES OPEN SOON
6/1/2013
I was really looking forward to trying this dispensary, as the reviews seemed very positive. Sadly, I was disappointed. The woman at the desk did not greet me nor offer any sort of welcome. I actually felt as if I were an inconvenience to her day. The verification process was fast and I did appreciate that. Upon entering the bud room, the guy at the counter gave me a 10 second run down on where things were located. That was it. When I asked about some of the meds in stock, he couldn't give much information except the percentage of CBD or THC. While useful information to some, as a consumer I want to know more than the science. What's the high like, is it a heavy hitter or lighter...things like that. He declared, with complete snobbery, that he was a scientist, not a smoker. I've seen bananas with better personality.
There were a variety of strains to choose from, which I appreciated, but with little explanation after asking lots of questions, I sort of gave up and did my best to guess what would work best for me. Personally, I felt it was overpriced. I purchase from a different dispensary regularly and they have $10 grams and up. I saw very little here under $15. With the right marketing and information, I'm willing to pay top-shelf price. But I want to know about what I'm buying!
The layout and design of the store was really nice. It did have a zen and peaceful feel to it. But poor customer service just can't make up for nice paint and cork floors.
I doubt that I will return to Dockside and I will most certainly NOT suggest this as an access point to anyone I know.
