Chocolope Kush

5/8/2015
Captains Log: 5.7.15 2:25 P.M. Physical Description: Tight, fluffy, light green calyxes surrounded by reddish-brown pistils. Scent and Flavor Profile: While the scent is quite sweet (a few notes off from milk chocolate), the taste only faintly echoes what the aroma suggests. Pros: If an uplifting, euphoric strain is what you're looking for, than look no further; Chocolate Kush delivers a laughter-induced, awe inspiring high, which fills the user with wonder and excitement, ideal for the "out-of-doors" type of individual. Medicinally, the euphoric sensation is excellent for patients suffering from depression, and the active high promotes a higher rate of hunger and thirst, effectively combating a lack of appetite. Because of the Indica genetics, Chocolate Kush encourages muscle relaxation, soothing minor cramps and sores. Cons: Continuous smokers should be aware of the possibility of headache and light dry mouth, as well as the semi-harsh nature of the smoke it produces (if you have delicate lungs, you might want to take it easy at first). Conclusion: A well rounded Sativa, Chocolate Kush does an excellent job catering to the active individual, while still providing gentle pain relief and euphoria, helping to induce a relaxing and care free high that's sure to please.

Orange County's Patient Care

5/4/2015
Stocked with a wide range of well rounded strains and edibles, OCPC is patient-centered in every way (the security guard comes equipped with water bottles, which are free). The budtenders are friendly and helpfu, and the bar comes equipped with a "sample station", allowing patients to touch, smell, and even break up the samples of bud. While the inside of the dispensary is welcoming and helpful, the parking lot has it's own set of problems, most annoying of which being that anyone sitting in their car is asked to exit their vehicle and enter the lobby. Other than that, OCPC is the best choice for all your Cannabis needs.

Red Congolese

4/29/2015
Captain's Log: 29 April 12:10P.M. Amount Consumed: 0.9g Physical Description: The flower has many Indica like qualities, the most notable being small patches of bright purple bud to contrast the overall darker green hue, as well as her many thick orange hairs. Taste and Scent Profile: The taste--along with the scent--carries a spicy quality, very reminiscent of the famed "Thai" sativa. Pros: For those of us who prefer a cerebral high over a body high, this sativa is perfect: it not only makes any sort of couch lock nonexistent, it also promotes a "get up and move around" mentality. Ideal for creatives (or anyone who enjoys the following), Red Congo creates a clear headed high, giving a feeling of separation between ones mind and body. Cons: For those who don't have the pleasure of living around the bay area, this landrace sativa is quite difficult to come by. Conclusion: Even though seldom available to people outside of California, she shouldn't be underestimated; Red Congolese gives the user an incredibly compelling and cerebrally-focused high, while causing one to suffer few noticeably negative effects (for me, not even dry mouth), creating a pleasant, memorable experience, that will have even the most Indica-obsessed individual rushing to San Francisco to get more.

J-27

4/5/2015
Captain's Log: 4.5.15 11:08 a.m. Amount Consumed: 0.12g Physical Description: Dense, dry flower which contains reddish-orange hairs prominently. Taste Profile: citrus mixed with a more grounded/earthy flavor. Pros: the bud is incredibly potent, allowing the user to smoke tiny portions while still maintaining an intense, focused high. Creativity comes more easily, and the social nature of J-27 allows the user to remain in control while being medicated. Cons: it is very easy--especially for seasoned smokers--to over smoke; because of the intensity of the high, this mistake can mean increased heart rate, anxiety, drowsiness, and a difficult time retaining short term memory. Conclusion: while this is an excellent strain for the active patient, the severity of the negative effects makes this strain a smokers version of Russian roulette. Just remember that less is usually more with J-27, and the negatives should be enough to convince users to take it slow.

God's Gift

3/11/2015
Captains Log: 3.10.15 5:37pm amount consumed: 0.25g physical description: a soft, dense feel to the bud, which was a darker green with purple scattered throughout. cerebral experience: "God's gift" is indeed as its title suggests: a gift. A mere thirty minutes into smoking, I begin to feel the floor of a fall that I can only describe as the mental equivalent of sinking to the bottom of the ocean. I feel very heavy, as if I'm a bouncy ball that some other worldly thing threw into the dark void of space. It's lovely. Interestingly enough, if you put a small amount of thought into moving your limbs, you can easily conquer the couch lock. The downsides to the experience begin with an unrelenting case of dry mouth, followed by becoming easily distracted and incapable of behaving reasonably in public. I find myself focusing onto noises and music without being able to identify the source of the sounds, which gives everything you hear and listen to a "theme music" aspect. Visually, it's difficult to focus onto anything for longer than two seconds, unless that "thing" happens to be a bright light, such as traffic signals and street lamps. Being outside is ideal, largely due to a heightened feeling of connection to the earth (if you enjoy outdoor meditation, this is a great strain to take with you). An hour in and I'm beginning to level out, And that dramatic beginning about falling into space is starting to weaken; I can't decide whether or not I'm glad, or if I'm going to smoke more so I can return to the surface of the moon. Food has a very detailed quality when consumed, and I keep experiencing closed eyed hallucinations when chewing, seeing the general shape of the food being eaten as if it's inside my mouth. Mmhmm. Beverages, on the other hand, taste desaturated, which makes eating more about the actual eating (I would highly recommend this strain to those of you who enjoy sushi or sashimi). The time is now 7:04pm, and I'm beginning to come down, so I'll conclude my review with this: If you want to broaden your understanding of the senses, then breath God's Gift in deep. You are home.
