Purple Dream

If you're lucky enough to get one of the purpler varieties, this is one of the best smelling jars you'll ever crack— strawberry banana yogurt, to a tee. Heavily indica-leaning on the appearance and effects, keep in mind.

Jack Herer

Fun (and true) story: While hospitalized with pneumonia, strep, and sepsis last year, the nurse who kept me calm (and my heart rate below 160) in the ER asked me what I did for a living. I told her I managed a pot shop in West Seattle. She asked, "Oh, so do you know Jack Herer?" "The strain, or the man?" "My dad," she replied. In my mind, JH is what a sativa should smell and smoke like. Tend to think of it as the coffee of weed, a go-to for anything requiring focus and energy, Can certainly land on the anxious, fidgety side, so I'll often lean toward hybrids like Candy Jack and Platinum Jack. And wherever you are, River, I love and appreciate you. There isn't a doubt in my mind you saved my life that day.

Super Blue Dream

With a festive, tropical aroma resembling a Jimmy Buffet concert in a jar, SBD is the perfect carefree-but-present strain for navigating the rigors of a Trader Joe's parking lot and doubling down on your snack budget.

Lucky Leaf Co. - Spokane

Top notch, slick shop with knowledgable *and honest* staff; not overtly pushing big farms or GSC one-off hype strains. (But hey, if you buy on numbers alone, I'm sure they can make that happen too.) I came in with a semi-specific request, and Rebecca nailed it with a fantastic gram of Tangie from Doc & Yeti on her first try; she didn't mind my checking out a couple others, of course. (For the record, that drive back to Seattle felt like a couple hours.) Know where I'm going next time I'm in Spokane!

Aside from an a pretty distracted high (A little surprised here, seeing granddaddy strain Durban Poison is one of my all-time favorite productivity boosters), I'm impressed with CP's longevity - a nice, heady haze for a couple hours. Soothing and euphoric, which I'd imagine goes magnificently outdoors; unfortunately, Puget Sound winters offer little of this. Great for the Netflix-and-or-chiller, and happy/uplifting enough for anything from West Wing seasons or stand-up comedy specials. Not as giddy as I'd been led to believe, but I can't wait to take this flower on some road trips.

White Widow

Growing up in Southern California, WW was among the two or three strains I was puffing when I started out (about 10 years ago). Even with a high CBD content, it occasionally numbed me beyond cognizance a few times, at least back when I could still get that high. I hadn't smoked it in at least 5 years (I get baked daily) until this very afternoon. It's a perfectly gentle strain for taking the edge off minor physical pain, letting your mind momentarily drift from stressors, or some low key bluegrass on a rainy evening.
