I travel past other options to visit HBCG. This place is so well run. Everything about HBCG is professional from the staff to inventory, to the cleanliness and hours. Strain variety is top notch, and the selection of edibles is impressive too. The only negative is the price. Some are high, pun intended. That said, there's always deals going on. Finally, HBCG contributes positively to the community via charity work. I totally recommend HBCG. And, no, I have no personal affiliation, other than to be a satisfied patient!

This is mild and airy. Or, at least seemed that way to me as I tend toward heavy Indica strains. The flavor was not nearly as candy-like as I anticipated. In fact, it had a gasoline sort of hint to it. What I imagine gasoline to taste like, at least. The effects were near immediate. My head and neck quickly became like one big, noticeable weight upon my shoulders. Yet, it was a pleasant sensation. High pitched tones in music were super amplified, crisp, and pleasing. From the shoulders down, there was not much of a body high. As I came down, I grew bit drowsy and developed pretty typical dry mouth. Strawberry Shortcake seemed to me mellow. I'd recommend using it to make the daily grind float by more casually.

I have only been medicating for a short period. So, I have been fortunate that even the worst of the strains that I has tried have been good. Unfortunately , the worst, in this case, has been Grape Ape. This strains offers a much more medicated high than a recreational high. The experience is kind of spacey. There's some light-headedness and definite drowsiness. Causes pretty thorough mouth dryness and heavy eyelids. Mentally, I feel lethargic, slow. This is definitely not a high that provokes creativeness or philosophic thought. My body is heavy but not particularly relaxed. I almost feel like I shouldn't be enjoying this but, I guess that's the magic of it, because I am. I don't know, overall, this is just boring. If you have access to choices, then I would choose one of them over this most likely.

Not the most fair of reviews because I rarely treat with this sober. So, it's difficult to speak to its specifics. But the reason why this is never taken sober may speak volumes. I only use King Louis before going to sleep. More than anything else I've had, this strain is aggressively and pleasantly overwhelming across the entire body. I don't melt in to the couch as much as I drop like a bomb in to it. Mentally, I've overcome by relief from the very little stress that I had. King Louis is powerful and, in both mind and body, puts me perfectly at peace for a restful night of sleep.

Providing this review before reading any other review of this strain. So, these are all original thoughts. The aroma from medicine bottle is pungent and vinous, just as anticipated. Inside, fluffy little nuggets are mostly green with unavoidable red-brown hairs. The taste is piney and resinous on the tongue, inducing a dreamy state with heavy eye visuals and relaxed muscles. The head throbs a bit, pleasantly, and all other body pain melts away. The aftertaste is grimey and similar to the same left by a strong IPA - for all you beer drinkers. I enjoy this. I can still function and am experiencing generally increased focus and very little fog. The effects are strong, but not overwhelming. This is good stuff!

Though I haven't medicated long enough to be an expert, Platinum Berry Cookies is among the most effective at soothing the mental trauma I occasionally experience due to PTSD. And the aroma is out of this world, living up to its name, as the scent is strongly reminiscent of Crunch Berries (the cereal). Strain is available at the Huntington Beach Care Givers in southern California as of mid-December, 2014. Platinum Berry Cookies induces absolutely no sense of paranoia. Quickly causes a near-couchlock state. Muscles previously sore develop a pleasant and relaxing tingling. No discernible increase in appetite. This is best enjoyed with peaceful background music.
