Blackberry Kush

I have occasional intense muscle spasms and headache that are brought on by stress. This is the ONLY thing I have found (besides prescription migraine meds with some side effects) that stops that physical stress response that causes the spasms/pain. I've vaporized it just as symptoms have come on and stopped them in their tracks. I've also taken it when I'm in the throes of an attack and it turns it around better than even the 'scrip meds. I can't recommend this enough to people who have similar symptoms. It has a good grassy, fresh taste and smell, as well, compared to some other similar strains that have had weird green-melon-and-menthol type notes that have been "hold your nose" off-putting for me.

Sour Diesel

2/3/2022
Many people recommended Sour Diesel to me as a "wake and bake" or daily med for ADD/anxiety etc. I tried Sour D for that but, for me, it made me too spacy and forgetful and apt to wander away from work. :) I have been using Strawberry Cough for a few months for a "wake and bake" or daily med - would recommend! But last night I vaped some flower Sour D to feel relaxed, happy, in a good mood despite all the stuff there is to worry about out there in the real world. And Sour Diesel is great for that - saying F it and feeling good for no reason. If you want to be focused enough, like I do, to cook dinner and watch a little TV, hit Sour D very lightly and enjoy. It is some strong stuff. It will sideswipe you into la-la-land and into bed if you hit it too hard - which is why it never worked for me for daytime use. Last night, I felt great after two vapes and then had a lovely evening of watching TV with my husband before crashing into a post-high sleepy drift that was so seductive that I could barely brush my teeth before face-planting into bed. Had a lot of vivid, involved dreams that were like I was all these different characters in different story lines. And then I woke up this morning perky and happy to be me and be alive. If you knew me - you'd know how rare that is. Sour D is some super plant. :)

Gelato

Didn't really care for this, unfortunately. Many of the reviews I read made me excited to try it. Was really looking forward to some euphoria and a lasting sense of well-being and self-esteem. For me, the main feeling was vertigo. I felt like I was on a carnival ride that wasn't much fun, like the ride was just lurching around and making me feel a bit dizzy. Took the cartridge off my vape pen and put it away for a guest who might want to try it and might get a better result. Replaced the cartridge with some Strawberry Cough, my go-to, for my daytime use.

Strawberry Cough

12/29/2021
What I like about Strawberry Cough is the way it makes me remember to breathe. That sounds weird, I know. But after taking it medicinally every afternoon for over a month, I realized that this is one of the effects of this strain. At first, I noticed the energizing effects and the way that it just slightly elevated my mood and suppressed irritability, which is why I choose the strain to help me with CPTSD and the resulting anxiety/depression that can sideline me on any given afternoon/evening. But lately, I've also noticed that I'll have a feeling of well-being that starts way down in my body; and as I relax into that, I'll take a deep breath that makes me feel like things are gonna be ok or that I'll feel like I'm ok on the inside even if things aren't all that great out in the world. Sounds simple. But it's an amazingly wonderful thing for someone like me who was always kind of a "stress ball," even before these times got increasingly and increasingly "unprecedented." I've tried both the flower and concentrate cartridges of the strain. I started with the flower but recently switched to the cartridge because I believe I've built up a tolerance to it that makes using a cartridge more efficient than using a flower vaporizer. That's a good thing, actually, because that illustrates how well the strain has been working for me. I've had zero negative side effects, such as feeling too "buzzy" or paranoid or high to work. I use it to help me focus with a positive mood in the afternoons/evenings on pretty intense intellectual work and to run errands, prep dinner etc. It works very well for this! Helps me feel energetic. Helps me focus. Helps me stay clear-minded but in a good mood even in the midst of shit traffic. Very much recommend to try this strain for anyone who is seeking a better alternative to antidepressant or antianxiety or antiADD pharm drugs.

Granddaddy Purple

I discovered GDP while staying at a friend's house for Thanksgiving week when I observed him partaking some from a vape. I was having trouble sleeping next to my snoring spouse in their guest room because I'm a super light sleeper when trying to fall asleep. At home, I'd just go sleep in our guest room but here it wasn't an option. Tried his GDP and was astounded at how well it put me out and kept me out but did not give me any weird twitchiness or unwanted "high" feelings that even other pure indica strains have given me. Slept like a rock. Woke up super refreshed, and just a little bit groggy, until that second cup of coffee kicked in. No bad side effects for me except for a bit of dry mouth and dry eyes. Totally worth a good night's sleep. I liked it so much that when I got back home I bought a vape pen just to use for GDP. I've been using it nightly for about a month now and I've never slept better in my life. I've been having a lot of elaborate dreams, too, that are pretty fun. It's been a long time since I've had good dreams as an adult, too. Five stars, my friends. The only drawback I've discovered is that GDP is typically only available in cartridges in my area for whatever reason so if you want flower, you might struggle to find it.

Harlequin

11/10/2021
After reading many, many reviews on Harlequin as a good flower for daily daytime use, I bought an 1/8 of it. I wish I had started with a smaller quantity because it doesn't do for me what I'd hoped it would. I had been using Strawberry Cough daily for daytime use to counteract the depressive/anxious effects of complex PTSD and ADD; and it was working well for me but I thought that Harlequin might work better based on all those reviews. I guess, for me, Harlequin might have worked differently than it does for others because I had a very intense "couch lock" sensation using it when I used it at the dose that many reviewers recommended (3 moderate inhalations with a vaporizer). After those 3 hits, I wasn't able to work and just went and took a 2 hour nap, which was hella refreshing but not what I was intending to do that afternoon. I tried just one hit the next day and it was less intense but I still didn't feel focused and able/enthusiastic about working either in an intellectual or physical mode; I just felt like I had "brain fog" and wanted to lie the heck down. On the third day, today, I tried a mix of Strawberry Cough and Harlequin, a 9/1 ratio about, and took one moderate hit. THAT is the sweet spot for me. The tiny amount of Harlequin adds just a nice bit of background body high that feels like a sense of wellbeing and balances well with the energy/optimism of the Strawberry Cough. I would definitely turn to Harlequin if I had body pain and wanted something to knock me out. But for daytime-working-focus use, so far the best strain for me has been Strawberry Cough.
