Platinum Sour Diesel

8/3/2013
I know next to nothing of this strain, except that this was available to me through a local dispensary. I had never heard of PSD before and just figured I'd try it based on the way it looked, and the fact that members were limited to only 1/8 of this stuff for the time being, making this seem a bit exclusive. For one, the nugget is large. I say nugget, because the entire 1/8 is a 3.5g bud. The buds do not have any kind of color that would make them outstanding, but I tend to believe I have the real deal here as the bud smells exactly like a skunky sour diesel. Smoke was not very smooth, and there was some coughing and through aggravation from the very start. Taste was exactly like the smell; Sour Diesel x Skunk. The buzz comes on fast with a quick, accelerating climb up within the first minute of smoking. Buzz quickly settles in and pronounces itself heavily with both strong sativa and indica properties. The body stone seems especially strong, and sleepiness begins to take over as the experience progresses. However, there is just enough sativa mind meld going on to make the whole thing worth staying awake for. Bear in mind, this is my first time having smoked PSD, and I have no reason to believe I will be likely to encounter it again. The strain stands way above in potency and its beautiful hybrid type buzz. Considering how embarrassingly high my tolerance is, it seems strange that I could have been this medicated after only 1 bowl. I venture to say that if you really like Sour D, this may not be for you because it isn't a stronger or more potent sour d, instead it's in its own league and resembles sour d only in taste and smell. Overall, I'd give it a 9/10 and would never pass it up, and will always pick it up if available. Hopefully the demand for this strain will catch on prompting caregivers and dispensaries to begin supplying this wonderful and unique strain!

Hash Plant

8/1/2013
This particular sample of mine came from a local dispensary. I'm not aware of the genetics of my sample, and it's important to point out that there are several different sub types of hash plant which are loosely (in some cases, not clearly) identified. Several seed companies produce a strain called, "Hash Plant" and they do not all share the same genetics. For my sample, this really lived up to its name. Buds were gorgeous and the smell and taste were a good strong hash taste and smell. I really didn't expect this strain to deliver being a hash smoker myself, but I was pleasantly surprised. While HP has a great body stone, my initial reaction to it was similar to that of pure sativas, with a great, uplifting emotional high followed quickly by the strong body stone. Based on my sample, I rate this strain in my top three personal favorites in this order; Afghan Kush, Panama Red (extinct, pretty much), Hash Plant. I will definitely be picking up more of this.
