Dockside Cannabis in SODO

10/26/2021
I started at Shoreline, then Ballard was a favorite, adore the service I got at 85th and Aurora and now blow away by the outstanding folks running SODO. Not a bad apple in the bunch and have never had anything but top shelve product and the best budtenders in town. The stores are beautiful and always fresh and welcoming! Dockside seems to have it dialed in. As someone that has extensive product knowledge and a strong retail background, they are hands down, one of my favorites in the country! Money well spent.

The Joint - SeaTac Airport

I use to spend a hundred on the average a week here. One time, I bought a a box of prerolls of 5. When I got home I saw the box was completely empty and I immediately went back to resolve when I got there the manager gave me a look of total disbelief as she disappeared in the back room. Naturally after waiting over 15 minutes and spending $40 on an empty box I was upset and asked the doorman to speak to the manager and was told basically to F off. I called him later and he apologized and usured me he would wait on me personally. Weeks later, when I went back I was told I was ban. No big deal. I would rather give my money to worthy businesses. But what is really disturbing is why are they using face recognition hardware at this pot shop and who are selling the information to? No other business government or private is subjecting their customers to this total invasion of privacy. From what I’ve heard around town The Joint is not highly respected by local growers always going to the lowest quality and they are not paying their bills. (billboard on Ambaum gone). There are so much better places to support that work to keep your business. This is not one.

Forbidden Fruit

2/22/2019
A couple decades plus of smoking and producing and I can count on one hand how many strains have struck me instantaneous as something so unique and different and Forbidden Fruit has made the cut. Suggested by almost the entire staff at Seattle’s Docksides, I could easily tell what it was about this strain that made it so different and after tasting I feel like I need to introduce as many people to as possible like I had join some religious cult. FF is spicy and with a potpourri flowery citrus flavor. It is an extremely rich dense smoke like Jillybean. After a couple hits off a joint, you feel a pleasant tingle and numbness in your lips. It’s not a creepier. It’s the shot verses a beer when it comes to cannibas. Extremely pleasant relaxing high. I have heard it discussed that now that demand can be met and large yielding strains are being over produced, some growers will turn to strains that are unique and known for flavor and beauty. Not some weed you smoke out of a vacant lot but a highly cultivated multigenerational plant grown for the pleasure of taste in smoking and being as medically beneficial as possible. Forbidden Fruit is a large step in that direction. It’s part of a new top shelf where I would only put Lucid Dream & Super Nova next to. Hats off to the growers of this strain. Super impressive. Pretty, tasty and chill. Grab it if you can!

Tonight, I came across the response to my last comment and the last time I was in your store from 11-16-16 and found your remarks laughable and dripping with insincerity. I was a huge supporter of PG when it was first opened in my neighborhood and found the original owner and manager some of the most knowledgeable in the business and wanted to help the business grow. Then you took over and the old owners and management disappeared overnight and your husband and you went from running the minimarket in the strip mall to working full time at the dispensary. It was obvious both of you lacked any product knowledge or sensitivity towards your customer base and did not show desire to learn or appreciate your clientele and their business. With what I assume is a lack of faith in your employees or your inability not to micromanage, every time I went there it was becoming more and more disappointing. You brought the same business ideas from the minimart into the dispensary and treated the customers like they were just slapping down a 6 pack and leaving. Not true with dispensaries. We spend an average at least 10 minutes and average higher sales. Because we are their longer we have opportunities to observe and decide if this some place I want to spend time and support. Every part of the service and products suffered immediately. To you constantly being over your employees shoulders as they were helping people speaking towards them in deeming fashions and constantly questioning what they were doing in a very accusing manner. It’s was incredibly ackward seeing your employee treated that way. And then putting your husband in the lobby at the reception desk when he has absolutely no personal skills. No greeting. No acknowledgement of return customers. Instead he does what he did at the store, stares at FOX News on a big screen in the lobby forcing all of us to watch as well when we are in there usually 5-15 minutes. The day I wrote the first review, I sat there and listened to a commentary compare cannibus smokers to Pedophiles. I couldn’t believe I was listening to that in a dispensary and I tried to explain that constantly having a channel blaring that portrays your clientele as criminals and mental deviants is being insensitive towards us and makes it call into question your respect for us and our business. And your comment about no being able to find another channel that doesn’t offend as much is just ignorant or smart ass. I would bet you it’s impossible to find one that offends half as much. I did not ask you about your politics but you all had no problem forcing them on your clients. After wrinting that review and stopped in the next time, you came flying across the store and attacked me for writing it in the middle of the store. No apolizes or wanting to understand my view and keep my business. Saying I had no right to my opinion or state it and meanwhile you guys still had Fox News playing! I have a right just like I had the right to take my $500+ monthly business else where and did. You have the right to watch all the Fox you want but you could be losing business as well from that and a customer has the right to point that out or any situation that makes them unhappy with their shopping experience . But stand by your choice and don’t come back acting like suddenly you care about customer satisfaction and are working to have a welcoming atmosphere when that so is not you. Your words ring shallow.

Dockside Cannabis Express on Aurora & 85th

I had an Oregon medical and growers card the first year of medical and have been to dispensaries in almost every state. I have a lot of product knowledge from decades as a consumer and producer along with years in retail management which combined has made me an extremely picky but loyal customer. Moving back to my childhood home of Seattle 6 months ago, it has taken me awhile to adjust to the ways of Washington dispensaries with things such as all prepackaged and let go of Portland favorites but after visiting the Dockside in Ballard a couple times, the place really stood out and I now considering myself to be a regular to the 85th and Aurora along my work route and almost every visit has done nothing but impressed me further. The shop in Ballard is as beautiful as the Shoreline. I love the way the products are cleverly displayed away from the counter so you can really take your time and not feel you are holding anyone up. I also how they group together their suppliers so you get an overview of their different strains and products. Their glassware are premium pieces and they have had some great promos from gift bags to pet photos. I seldom join rewards programs but not only is it easy with a phone number or tap at these locations but it seems every other visit your price comes down. The ordering online is also quick and easy. All their locations have exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff. I really like all the locations but I am placing this review under the 85th and Aurora because everybody at this store is a rockstar and deserve acknowledgement. It’s a small location but it’s stocked just as well and they get people through quickly. Never have I felt the size of the store slowed down the service or felt my time was rushed nor have I had to wait longer than someone finishing up in front of me. Everyone that works here is super friendly and seem to really recognize and appreciate their returning customers. Occasionally, when I’m not getting a hard sell and can see the person helping me knows their products, I will ask them to pick me out a preroll or ask them their personal favorites on items. Man, these folks have turned me onto some amazing fines! In fact, just recently they suggested a strain that shocked me! Shocked me! I have seen anything like this in years! The flavor can only be described as potpourris. Reminds me of one of my favorite strains, the rare Jillybean. Instantly recognizable and unique but had a lot a flowery flavor than just the musk of the Jillybean. The high hits quick like Blue Magoo. This is no creeper and the third hit of a joint you already are feeling it. Plus you can actually feel a instant numbness tingle in your lips from the terpenes while smoking a joint. Truly, one of the most exciting strains I’ve seen in a long time and I have your staff to thank for such great find! Hats off to this grower and you all for finding such unicorn! I’m not going to name the strain because I’m hoping to buy it all and hoard it but I’m sure if you go in to any of their locations, they all have the prerolled, they will recommend it. Just ask for the craziest strain they have seen, Ending, I would like to acknowledge owner(s) and managers. A happy staff says so much about the company they work for and how they are being treated and your Dockside staff really set themselves apart. I like the great friendly security and I like that you have put up an awning in consideration of him working outside. I feel always better spending my money with a company that gives the impression they care about their employees. My only suggestion would be consider carrying Double Delicious RSO. I do like the brand you have now but I really like the price point on the DD products. Great stores! Great product! Outstanding staff! Dockside stores are the places where you take someone that’s never been to a dispensary to prove how classy and non shady the world of legal cannabis has become and some of these places are elegant pot galleries. Dockside stores are were you take your most season stoner buddy to impress him. Docksides are top shelf.

Uplift Botanicals

I have to say when this place first opened, I had a bad experience. A miscommunication about credit cards and I thought I would move on but I've gone back to this place since and they have only won my business but my respect. Great products all across the board! Nice and selective. You get the owner really is taking pride in his selections. Top shelf weed at all price points. I adore the last selection I made but I'm not willing to share it in hopes I can clean them out of it. If you shop here, you are most likely going to meet the owner and his wife and in my interactions with them, this is the kind of good people family small business I want to support. I would highly recommend this store to the first time nervous housewife. Easily discrete access(park at Walgreens or New Seasons!) knowledgeable thoughtful staff that will walk you through it and it's a beautiful little place that's got a spa like feel. Thanks Uplift! Props!
