Wedding Cake x Modified Bananas from Abundant Organics.
SUPER dense nugs that smell like a pungent, herb-infused, buttered pastry platter being walked past you. Breaking down brings out sugary notes and gets fingertips sticky.
Tends to hit hard, immediately, and always crazy in the eyes and face. Not incognito weed at all—bad munchies, lots of laughing, and lowered IQ. Helps a ton with pain and stress, one of my favorites to reach for at the end of a bad day.
I shop Cura only for edibles, they usually run some sick medical deals at least once a week. Haze & Main bars are the most consistent brand I’ve tried and BOGOs for them are always highly appreciated. Max was my budtender, young dude with a ponytail, and he was super helpful. Computer didn’t wanna play nice with the deal and correct total even after a supervisor took a shot, and he got it figured out quick. The staff here is always very sweet and pleasant.
Picked up a deli quarter at Pondy in Phoenix, AZ. Testing 23% THC, 27% total.
Great bag appeal, very frosty pale green nuggets with a lot of purple. VERY potent smell, super gassy and sharp. For sure the GMO coming out strong. One of those fabulously dense cuts where just a small pinch from a nug grinds up to become enough for a massive bowl pack.
I have a very high tolerance to flower, and I’m impressed with the Sonoran Roots grower. Flawless cure and a many-faceted smoke that hits so many different targets you want from craft weed.
This is a rare kind of indica that combines a head and body stone without putting you down for a 4hr nap. Brushed away any tightness or pain I was feeling to settle with a numbing tingle in my face. Mentally, still very clear; not a strain that will strike you stupid and make you unable to act right.
I wouldn’t rely on this one for insomnia, but I don’t think this was bred for that purpose. It’s a strain to reach for in the hours after work or a long day, but when you still want to have enough energy to do the things that make you happy. Might steer you toward the couch, but won’t lock you into it. Zero complaints, and I would have this as a household staple if i could.
As a huge indica fan in a state where truly quality indicas are few and far between, I jumped on this strain as soon as I saw it despite the fact that it was mids. Pure indicas, much less famous landraces, do not show up here often.
Jar appeal was decent. Tiny nugs but absolutely covered in dense orange pistils and a thick dusting of amber trichs… told me right there it was gonna annihilate body pain, and I was right.
Very spicy, woodsy, herbal scent close to cedar or tobacco. A VERY unique smell that I wasn’t expecting. Taste is the same. I live with a cigar enthusiast, and smoking this strain is exactly like what some aromatic, expensive cigars smell like before they’re lit and become horrible. Don’t tell him I said that.
The first night with this strain, I was slapped in the head and face with the heaviest, tingliest, giggliest high. It was ridiculous. I watched Peacemaker and laughed until I cried, then I pestered my brother and my dog like a teenager who had her first margarita. It was great. I do not get to that level with flower alone anymore, at 21% (which is quite good for an indica) I was not expecting that. Terpenes are real, science bitch!
It’s been a few days and my brain has gotten more used to the strain. I have not gotten that head high since then. I feel it in my face for sure, and get some bloodhound eyes going, but I actually am extremely clear-headed. Again, a very unique experience that feels hard to describe. It’s one of those highs that trick you into thinking you could drive safely.
But what it did most for me, that can’t be overstated, is get rid of my body pain. For months I’ve been having that kind of agonizing, shooting pain in my shoulder joints that doctors have thrown NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, and opiates at while they try to figure out the problem. None of it helps more than 1-2 hours at a time, and as hard as it is to live with being in pain constantly, it’s outright impossible to live life completely gone on a combination of all those pills. I can’t sleep 16 hours a day and then spend the waking time sitting there in a stupor. All while not being able to poop. Good times.
And funnily enough this is where Afghani comes in hot a second time. I picked this up for insomnia after taking a hiatus from all the meds. But because it focuses so much on a body stone, and cerebral effects are much clearer, it actually doesn’t make me sleepy at all. It’s a unicorn indica strain that I can smoke literally first thing in the morning and all day/night long if I needed to, and it does not make me sleepy whatsoever.
For a powerful painkiller strain, that’s usually a side effect you have to make peace with! Relaxed, yes, calm and easygoing, definitely. Sleepy like an Ambien? Not even close. I can function while not having pain, and it’s hard to find an indica like that.
The genetics in Afghani are incredible. I’m getting ready to start my grow journey and this strain will be a permanent fixture in my house if I can get my hands on some good beans.
The ideal indica for me gives that nice tingly body high, as well as a little love tap to the head & face. 9lb Hammer fulfills that perfectly.
Tense muscles relaxed, body buzzing, face melting. I mean that last one almost literally, numbed my forehead and nose; you truly do get smacked by the hammer. I imagine this would be a front-runner strain for those with migraines, facial neuropathy, or the like.
Nugs were large and dense, medium green and sporting an impressive orange fur coat with an earthy, fruity scent. Not much kief, just an understated sparkle in the light. My batch is coming in at 17% THC. As someone with a high tolerance, I underestimated it and I’m pleasantly surprised.
As far as sleeper strains, this one definitely qualifies, but it’s gentle. A weighted blanket instead of a tranq dart. Unfortunately (for me) indicas like these usually give you the appetite of an offensive lineman, and this one is no different.
Pretty sure when I lose the battle to sleep shortly, I’m going to enter the fifth dimension. I am THAT relaxed.
“It’s terribly well-balanced.”
“Well, if there’s too much weight, you lose power on the swing.”
Awesome place! VERY well-stocked with wax and other concentrates. They have a decent selection of flower, and multiple price tiers to take advantage of as well as some discounts. I stopped in on my birthday and Rina took care of me with a free preroll and some amazing service. He was honestly what set it apart from being another cool dispensary; you can get good bud almost anywhere, but when you have that kind of customer service, why would you go anywhere else?! If I lived in LV, this store would be my main stop just because of Rina! 💚
Love this place! Great selection of flower, concentrates, and pre-rolls. The "menu" is vast and organized into several categories to simplify the experience you're going for. The inside of the store is gorgeous and super relaxed, and they have a carefully curated collection of pot-related knickknacks and trinkets on display along with their purchasable merch. All the employees were very friendly and giggly when we visited. 10/10 would buy from here again!
As far as indicas go, this one was a little less potent than what I prefer. But man is it a creeper. It didn't hit my head very hard - more of a body high -
but about an hour after smoking I was absolutely ready for bed. I might have given this 3 stars, but what earns it the extra is the flower itself. I have rarely come across strains that actually mirror the name, much less bud that quite literally smells of orange blossoms. In nug form it's sweet and delicate, and after grinding it releases an intense, almost candy-like orange scent. Each large nug I had was covered with trichs and thick, curly sherbet-colored hairs. The flavor is exactly what you'd expect given its fragrance. Truly an experience.
