Kosher was described to me as a heavy strain when I made my first purchase. I'd say it's heavy with a cerebral threshold, where I can have a bigger than usual session without feeling like I went overboard. The high provides me with reduced muscle tension, without the energy depletion that's sometimes attached with other heavy Indicas. Being able to keep my mind somewhat sharp while having a head-to-toe body high is advantageous, especially while working on art in the later hours of the day. The leaf grinds and smokes great and is super tasty vaporized. Tastes like the air at a Pennsylvanian Amish farmstead just as the sun comes up over the horizon and the dew in the wheat fields begin to disappear.
I've stopped by Livwell a couple of times at this location. The staff is engaging, well-informed and honest about their product in stock, as well as having useful information on incoming products. They carry a good amount of strains at any given time and have most of the edibles I've seen at other places in Northern Colorado. One of the tenders I bought leaf from was going over each nugget and trimming up a few longer stems so it wouldn't count as dead weight toward my order. That's the attention to detail and service that gives Livwell the edge on leaf in the Garden City/Greeley area.
I love the way this strain tastes, so much. The leaf burns smooth even on big pulls. Purple Bush has a distinct finishing flavor, like a blend of ripe red berries. Gives me slight tingles and a mellow body high. It's heavy on the indica side but not a complete couch-melter. I work in a creative field and a couple of hits gets me going good in the studio, if I want to clock out I just add a few more hits and read about outer space for three hours straight. Cannot recommend enough.
XG was my first experience at a dispensary. I couldn't have asked for a better experience at the front desk, I was given a detailed explanation of pricing and availability, and the guy working that morning asked me about my preferences and effortlessly formed some recommendations for me based on the information I gave him.
I was let into the back and the lady at the service counter gave me more indepth information about strains I was interested in, and gave me a rundown of available waxes, oils, and edibles. She was polite and didn't skip a beat in answering any of my stupid, naive questions.
I picked up a couple of strains (Banana, Mob Boss), a pack of their Platinum Drops (10mg hard candies), and a pack of their layered brownie edibles. They didn't have a lot to choose from concerning edibles, but that was fine with me as a first-timer. After some shopping around at other places in Northern CO, XG's hard candies are by far the best I've had so far. Best cerebral high from an edible I've had yet. The same goes for the brownies, although as warned, the dosages on the brownie pieces vary more because of how they are prepared. All good, but a couple of them knocked me flat out possibly indicating a much higher concentration of THC on those pieces.
Service and presentation at XG are great. Equipment isn't their primary business, but the display cases in the lobby could be expanded on, there's some room to grow in the front area.
Side note: Garden City isn't pretty. If you've seen that movie Basket Case, Garden City is the basket child to it's older, bigger brother Greeley. But if you're in the area, XG is worth stopping by.
