MORE THAN 40 YEARS OF COMMERCIAL DRYING EXPERIENCE
Cann Drying Systems (CDS) began making low-temperature cannabis drying equipment in 2017. Our Maine-based company is an offshoot of Nyle Systems, which has been a leading manufacturer of lumber and food dryers since 1977. Many Nyle units are still in operation after 15 to 20 years of drying - they're built to last! CDS uses proven technology from the food and lumber drying industry to create energy-efficient cannabis systems that maximize batch consistency, safety and quality.
A WIDE RANGE OF CAPACITIES FOR DIFFERENT SIZE GROWERS & BUDGETS
Our heat pump-based systems have proven to be the perfect technology to dry high quality cannabis. We started with a small system on wheels that fits through standard doorways and dries up to 65 pounds per 24 to 72 hour cycle. Now, we've scaled up the same technology and design we started with in 2017 to create a wide range of sizes and capacities all the way up to the CDS 225 that can dry more than 8,000 wet pounds per 24 to 72 hour drying cycle.
UPGRADE FROM DIY DRYING TO "THE BEST DRY EVER"
Our mission is to help our customers achieve the Best Dry Ever. Despite the dynamic growth of the cannabis category, it's surprising that many commercial cannabis growers still use the labor-intensive, old-school method of hanging freshly harvested plants upside down for weeks to gain their desired dryness and cure. The drying and curing stage of cannabis production is perhaps the most important and we're taking it to the next level. Each system includes the heat pump dehumidification unit, air handling components, an insulated drying chamber, and PLC-based electrical controls with operator screen.

LOW TEMPERATURE DRYING THAT PROTECTS THE MEDICINE
Each system uses cutting edge technology to control humidity, temperature, air flow and dwell time in order to maximize the medicinal potency, color, flavor and texture of medical marijuana and CBD-rich hemp. Growers are always concerned about exposing their plants to excessive heat, which can compromise the CBD, THC, terpenes and other cannabinoids that provide potent medicinal benefits. Therefore, our engineers have designed systems that provide a careful dry by focusing on optimal airflow and delicate temperatures as low as 60 F degrees. The closed-loop, sealed systems give the grower more ability to prevent mold and other contamination that can be common in slow drying, DIY-style grow room environments. The closed loop design limits the potential for contaminated ambient, and piped in air to spoil the product. Each system features in-line filtration components and hygienic, GMP compliant surfaces such as pharma-grade stainless steel.
EASY USE - JUST ROLL IN THE RACKS & PUNCH IN THE RECIPE ON THE TOUCH SCREEN
Our dryers use rolling, standard bakery racks with trays specifically designed to allow consistent airflow. The grower spreads fresh cannabis on each tray (1.5 to 3 pounds per tray), places up to 20 trays in the rack system, rolls the racks into the dryer chamber and enters the drying details into the touch screen controls. Depending on grower preferences, the dried cannabis will be ready to be rolled out of the unit in as little as 24 to 72 hours. Options are also available for hanging flower on the racks instead of using trays. There is also an automatic rehydration feature that prevents over-drying and allows the user to maintain optimal residual water content.
AUTOMATION, CONSISTENCY & OFF-SITE REMOTE CONTROLS
CDS takes the guess work out of drying and helps prevent yield loss due to mold and human error. The intuitive touch-screen controls allow the grower to precisely set the preferred drying curve and repeat it time after time to ensure the highest quality product and yield. The system controls may also be managed remotely via a smartphone or tablet app.
ENERGY EFFICIENT & ECO-FRIENDLY
Sustainability is a key part of the Cann Drying Systems mission, and that's why our units feature heat pump technology that is energy efficient and can save 40 to 60% on energy costs compared to other conventional drying techniques. Leveraging energy efficiency as a means to reduce our customers’ operating costs and help them become more competitive has been part of our culture for as long as we’ve been around! Unlike fossil fuel-powered dryers, CDS units do not create emissions, and only require electric power to operate.
