Everyone loves to get high with their friends, but sometimes the squad is unavailable, and you have to get in a solo session before finding something to do with yourself. So what do you do? If you answered “listen to music or watch a movie,” then yes, you’re correct, but just know that there are so many other activities that you may be overlooking.
To resolve that issue, I’ve created a list of suggested activities for people to try when they’re high and need something to do.
1. Write a screenplay
You could watch a movie, or you could write one. You don’t have to be Aaron Sorkin to engage in the activity for fun. Chances are you believe that cannabis gives you a creative boost, so put that boost to use and see what kind of cinematic activities you have floating through your head.
2. Build a model home (or car, or plane, or anything tiny)
Do you have a dream home that you plan on buying one day? If so, it’d be dope for you to get high and build a model version of the home for visualization purposes. What’s that? You never even thought about this? I know; we’re thinking outside of the box today, baby.
Hop on Amazon, and you can cop a model home for like $35. In addition to model homes, you can build model cars, model boats, pretty much anything. Get crafty with it, my friends.
3. Find random things to buy online (or at the grocery store)
It’s so easy to say “eff it” when high, which makes it the perfect time to do a little shopping. Take a couple bong rips and then play Online Shopping Bingo to see how many weird items you throw into your cart. Will your bank account hate you? Oh yeah, definitely, but this list isn’t about saving money, it’s about fun things to do while high.
Recently, I found an entire box of Capri Suns (Wild Cherry flavor, of course) stashed in the back of my refrigerator. I had absolutely no clue where it came from, then I remembered “oohhhh yeahhhhh, I was stoned out of my mind at the grocery store and accidentally left my self-control at home.”
The moral: sometimes bad high decisions pay off in the long run.
4. Go people watching
Man, listen. There is no better feeling than being stoned in public and in your own little world. The mall (or any shopping district) is the perfect place for that. You can get high and go people-watch and really feel all of the energy from everyone around you. And because your high is causing you to radiate the most positive feel-good vibes, it’ll make the entire situation a very enjoyable experience. One of my favorite things to do is get high, go people watch, and make up backstories for the people I’m watching. Sounds creepy, right? Yeah, I know.
5. Visit an actual bookstore
When’s the last time you read a book? If the answer isn’t “Shit, like eight minutes ago,” it’s time for you to pick up some new literature. Bookstores are a great place to explore while high because:
- Bookstores smell incredible because there’s so much fresh paper around
- You never know what type of crowd you’ll run into posted up at the cafe (on random nights, I’ll walk into Barnes & Noble and see an old dude chess tournament going on)
- Window shopping for books is really fun, because there are so many types of books out there that you didn’t even know existed but that you should definitely read
6. Walk around a neighborhood you aspire to live in
We all love a good smoke ‘n walk, and truthfully, it’s an enjoyable experience no matter what environment you do it in. But it’s 10x more enjoyable when doing it in a rich-ass neighborhood with a bunch of big-ass houses that’ll inspire to you achieve greatness in the relative future.
I got high one day and walked around a neighborhood a few miles away from me and saw one the biggest houses I’d ever seen. The inspiration of it, combined with how good I felt after a fresh blunt, had me in my “Yo son, I gotta earn me one of those some day” feelings.
7. Learn to cook
Cooking is a lost art. Lol, just kidding ,there are recipes everywhere, cooking is found as hell. But most of us won’t cook unless it’s to whip up some cannabutter and make a batch of homemade edibles.
Still, there are sooo many dishes out there, and if you’re just at the crib by yourself, you may as well use that time to improve upon your culinary skills instead of rewatching Entourage for the 12th time. Grab a cookbook and give it a try. Cooking isn’t the easiest task, but it is very simple, and we’re all smart enough to read and execute a recipe.
