This takes care of the pain aggravated by tense muscles. Relaxing, a little trippy, but then it settles down and the pain goes away.
Used a vape stick for rosin.
The dispensary ran out and I am carefully managing what I have left because it works.
From what I've read about Critical Mass, it's parent, it's a heavy yielder, short season, compact plant.
This should be renamed Critical Mass CBD Lockdown! I used to smoke in HS which was the early 90’s. Growing up in Seattle we had some pretty famous statins here but the potency wasn’t what it is now...think pre-hydro weed! Well after 20 years I decided to use it for pain instead of opiates! I found that 20% THC is a bit much so I went searching for lower potency statins with CBD benefits. Wow...finding low THC or 1:1 CBD/THC ratio in a strain that is calming is rare! Trust me...my hobby is finding weed to works without feeling blato and I can say this is the most consistent medicine I have taken. No matter what method it is the same every single time! I can take it via RSO with some peanut butter and coffee in the morning and I just feel calm. It doesn’t remove the pain signals, it just relaxes my muscles enough so it is very tolerable! I have never found a strain that works no matter the method of use! Incredible!
Strong medicine without an overwhelming high. CBD Critical Mass from my dispensary is 5.1% THC and 7.7% CBD. Strong medicine that really works well without the scary side effects of pharmaceuticals. Works well to reduce muscle spasms and will allow for a peaceful night if rest for body and mind. Really nice, mellow high. Never jittery and relieves anxiety and stress. I haven’t smoked in 30 years. I didn’t think I’d ever go back but now I’ve rediscovered weed for relieving joint pain and controlling muscle spasms. Works in minutes and the medicinal effects become more noticeable after a few days of use. Pain relief properties last many hours after smoking and well after I’m no longer high. I also mix this with other hybrid cultivars to bump up the euphoria properties when I want to enjoy a more intense high. I still can’t tolerate the stronger strains which are over 20% THC unless I mix them with CBD Critical Mass.
This is a very relaxing, mellow strain. I dry herb vape it before bed and develop a pleasant body high and meandering thoughts that lead me gently down into sleep.
So far my favorite strain and is the first strain I am reviewing on Leafly because it's that damn good.
The effects of this are happy, relaxing, calm, uplifting effects in mind and body. It’s a very grateful, chill, satisfied feeling. There was no paranoia at all, and things seemed warmer rather than edgy/cold like some strains (likely due to some paranoia) can do. This is the first strain to make my eyes watery after a few minutes, which is new. Some dry mouth at the start.
I get the “HD vision” effect with this especially when outdoor in nature. To be honest, I wasn't expecting this strain to do this due to the high CBD and was in awe at just how beautiful stuff looked. There wasn’t a noticeable bloodflow/pressure feeling in between my eyes/forehead that happens with some strains that leads to intense focus. For that reason it is not the most creative strain, but it is extremely balanced, which I love.
I agree with another reviewer that there is a wave of euphoria that hits about an hour in. A full and warm body feeling with a clear, relaxed, warm, and happy head high. It seems this delayed effect could be due to the CBD somehow. This effects lasted for quite a long time, not fading quickly (a plus with these effects!).
I had practically no anxiety on this, mental or social. However, my thoughts were somewhat subdued with that forgetful/dumb feeling at the front of my forehead, but just enough. I wasn't so forgetful I couldn't function, and in a sense, this forgetful feeling is what allows the mind to clear from the day's stress and be happy. I could still function at 95% capacity but would just double check any complex work needed to be done.
This strain also opened me up socially but in a "chill vibe" kind of way. I wasn’t worried about how I was perceived as much or have a need to overthink what emotions I should show. In that way, it opened me up emotionally too. Just a feel-good down-to-earth feeling.
Music is very enjoyable and my sense of smell was highly sharpened. Flavors were also enhanced, but not so much the texture of food. There was no ravenous hunger. I was my typical hungry self and did not get the munchies.
At the dose I use, the pain mostly went away. The numbing effect is physical (numbness) versus just mental (distraction). This was great for stomach issues as it seemed to numb and relax the abdomen area. My neck pain subsided about 90%. I think at higher doses this would alleviate all pain.
I took this around 5pm and by bedtime I was sleepy and relaxed, ready to drift asleep. I had a solid sleep that was cozy, relaxing, and a bit dreamy with some nice visually realistic dreams throughout the night. Because of this it makes a great late afternoon/evening strain, but I could also see this being an all-day every-day type of strain due to its mellow effects that are not sedating.
The next day I didn’t have any irritability or exhausted feeling like I feel with most strains I’ve tried. This is also why I am raving about this strain since I am prone to mood shifts.
My CBD Critical Mass had a 2:1 CBD:THC ratio. It smelled herby, sweet, a tiny bit peppery, and a little skunky. Honestly it reminds me of oregano/Italian seasoning in both scent and flavor. Great thing I love Italian seasoning!
I only microdose my herb since I am a lightweight. I measure out 30mg (0.03g) of dry herb which was about 2mg THC/4mg CBD. I use a dry herb vaporizer with the temperature set at 445 F (230 C) to vaporize all the cannabinoids and terpenes for a few minutes for the full effect.
Compared to a sativa CBD strain I tried (1:2 CBD:THC with limonene and terpinolene), CBD Critical Mass is so much better. The Sativa gave me this energetic butterfly body feeling and was a bit racey, which even some of the pure THC sativas I have don’t do. CBD can help with anxiety, but not always, depending on what it’s mixed with and what ratio.
Some other strains I have tried include Strawberry Cough, Blue Dream, Skywalker OG, Cherry Bomb, Island Sweet Skunk, Super Lemon Haze, and Chocolate Thai Afghani.
Cherry bomb is the only one of the other strains I’ve tried that gives me the happy feeling in my forehead, visually warm effect, and “HD vision” effect but it is more on the forgetful side, my mood/emotions are a bit more in flux (versus steady), and it is visually more focused/narrowing vs open and clear, but I do find it more mentally creative. This was my favorite strain up to this point.
CBD Critical Mass may be “the one”. It seems to be a winner in the medical department because it is so balanced. As someone that gets moody, down, fatigue, has some anxiety, this strain was magic for me.
CBD Critical Mass is intensely therapeutic. Analgesic, hyper-focused, uplifted out of depressive mood, this is the perfect strain to process one’s life problems. I deal with social anxiety, depression, dissociative symptoms, and PTSD; and I sometimes struggle to fully identify, understand, and accept sub-conscious messaging. It is therefore hard for me to move forward in life.
I found CBD Critical Mass to be extremely useful for accurately identifying the problems in my mind, and it gave me insight for how to move forward in life. It also heightened my sense of empathy to a greater degree, recognizing more areas in my social life that I ought to pay attention to.
While under the influence, I like to process my mind in my own space, free from distraction or influence of someone not trained in therapy. I like to write my thoughts down until I’m satisfied, return to those thoughts sober, and use it to work on my life. I find it to be the optimal way to identify and accept my thoughts, but if processing with someone you trust (while under the influence) is something that works for you, go for it.
In all, CBD Critical Mass is impressively therapeutic and gets a 10/10 from me.
The perfect night cap. I've recently started working out and lifting weights again and this strain helps combat the soreness in my muscles and relaxes me to the fullest. Wash away the aches and pains you may have accrued throughout the day with this strain.
dabbing some critical mass extract by Root Down a grower in Washington State. thca:45 cbd:18 and terps:8.5
great taste, smooth smoke. my partner (suffers chronic pain) loves it as the night night dab, I'll use it before stressful or tense situations. I always buy this when I see it and always try to keep it stocked.
