This is the true story about the Kauai electric strain I'm a local haole that grew up on Kauai from the mid 50s my friends and I grew different varieties around the east side of Kauai and we decided to go up the power line trail because was always raining up there but had one Chain gate. So we cut the chain and put our own lock on the Chain gate but also there was a big brass padlock that had the Kauai electric logo embossed on it, one day I told my friend wow that would make one good 1 Hit Pipe yeh so when we got home my friend handed me one just like it that he got somewhere else and I made up a brass one hit the pipe from the Kauai Electric lock! anyway that year someone gave me a copy of the cultivators guide to marijuana and we were trying some of the methods to get make the plant better anyway I had 40 seedlings and then about 12 or 14 of them came out all crooked had variegated leaves polypod and when they turned into flowers they had large pods and red hairs and the leaves were variegated really sweet smelled almost like oranges and extra sticky, so anyway when I went Bussum out a friend of mine who was a drummer in a band from Kapaa, when you look at me said eh bra what kind we weed dis? I went looked down at my lock pipe and I said, "Kauai Electric!" And that's how the strand was born, this is the true story about Kauai Electric and if I name the names, everybody new us guys from surfing, to hitting the discos, to eating breakfast at ma's place we were notorious back then but now everybody knows the true story about Kauai Electric
My experience with Kauai Electric goes back to the early 1980's on the northside of Kauai. Wainihau valley, down towards the end of the road and the beginning of the 14 mile trail to Kalalau valley and the napali coastline. Some locals gathered on the beach passed me joint and wanted to know if it compared to the California cannabis I had brought with me from San Diego (Humboldt County Afghan) Kauai Electric took me to the next level. It actually blew away the Cali strain. I was all euphoric on the sand... they grew it then, they grow it now. Find a clone if your really lucky. Get a seed or two... if your lucky. Find it if you can, however you can. It's Hawaiian fruit for sure. The flavors are representative of the fruit growing in abundance all around the environment. Sweet papaya, delectable guava etc...
Kaua'i Electric is a hearty Hawaiian Sativa that soothes the soul while inducing a peaceful floating blissful feeling reminiscent of frolicking freely on a isolated tropical Hawaiian beach without a care in the world. If you are looking for a old school, feel good Hawaiian Sativa, Kaua'i Electric is just the strain for you.
This strain gives a nice mellow and functional high. I enjoy a few hits after dinner to wind down, although this would be a perfect daytime smoke. This strain has a pretty mild aroma and flavor-- sometimes Sativas give me a headache, but I'm loving the less "sharp" effects of Kauai Electric. Also, I think it's fun to try out land races.
euphoric and creative high. mellow sativa
Buds are big, frosty and loosely packed. They smell like garlicky, lightly skunky and fresh magnolia or gardenia flowers. The taste is floral (magnolia family) and a little garlicky: delicious, sweet and unmistakable. The high is euphoric, uplifted happiness. It can turn around a bad day and give you peace of mind and some energy to boot. I really enjoy it daytime, but found it's great at night, too, especially if I don't want to pass out. Highly recommended for dealing with work anxiety or just dealing with being couped up in a pandemic.
