What is a honeycomb disc?
A honeycomb disc is a type of percolator in bongs or dab rigs that cools and filters smoke through a series of tiny holes in a flat, horizontal disc that resembles a honeycomb. The numerous small openings create a flurry of bubbles when inhaling, allowing a greater volume of smoke or vapor to be inhaled. Like all percolators, this filtration also cools smoke, creating a smoother hit.
Honeycomb discs differ from disc percs in that they sit inside a bong or dab rig, and disc percs are welded to the inside of the piece’s body.
How to clean a honeycomb disc
Honeycomb discs can’t be separated from the piece they sit in and often aren’t easy to reach. To clean, fill the piece with enough isopropyl alcohol to cover the disc, add some salt, and let it soak for a few hours. Then, pour out the iso and rinse with warm water to remove any resin, salt, or alcohol residue.
