I’ve tried several sativa strains before and never really understood what people meant by the “energetic burst” sativa gives. In comes Durban Poison. I noticed a heightened attention to detail and generally easier to focus on the task at hand. Liked it so much I saved some for future use! Very unique strain, highly recommended!
The first strain I’ve found that for me, is great for daytime use...a gentle, single rip from my Top Puff sent me on an uplifting high, without munchies or the inability to remember something 5 seconds in the past.
This strain is by far the most potent I've tried. This isn't one to take and be out in public, unlike some other sativa strands where I can get away with running errands on a buzz. I get a strong head high that makes me have to sit down and wait it out, but when it does subside I feel residual energy from it.
I got a strong, nasty lemon-lime flavor from it that I assumed were diesel notes. I personally got a headache, dizziness, and my heart beat sped up significantly from a couple hits. I personally can't stand it- but it did wonders for my boyfriend. He gets great energy from this and doesn't mind the taste. He hasn't experienced the head rush I get. With this, he'll smoke and relax for 30 minutes to an hour afterwards. An hour or two later, he's got a ton of energy and it heightens his arousal. It's now our substitute for male enhancement products!
EARLY DURBAN. When you read this review, please do so with the understanding that I am an Indica or Indica dominant hybrid kind of girl. I had one of the most unpleasant experiences I have ever had on marijuana, on this strain. For those who suffer anxiety, pain, panic disorders, PTSD or are prone to paranoia, this is most likely not going to be your strain, unless you commonly adverse. Thankfully I had some Shark Shock that corrected the issue for me and made it bearable, but I would not use this a second time. Granted every person is different and I hate writing negative reviews, I really felt I needed to put a warning out there for people in my boat. If you ARE going to try this one, keep some CBD close at hand in case it doesn't mix with you well. That's the best advice I can give.
I've got ADHD and this is great for focus. I can take a few tokes, after that I get overloaded with anxiety and eventually fall asleep. But after four or five drags for several solid hours I feel a euphoric surge, motivation, energy, just overall happiness. I got a lot of studying done and really got into a Netflix doc. At one point I realized I had gotten an ice cream cone and was dipping every bite in a bowl full of sprinkles, haha so beware the munchies. A good sold strain, for sure.
Used a concentrate, and went right into outer space. It’s like a thick body high, but just for your central nervous system. And it’s tasty.
A super concentrated sativa that hits harder than caffeine! Even the earthy taste of the smoke has a coffee like flavor. Great sativa to focus on projects, specifically creative endeavors.
Much like the strain Green Crack, which is known as Green Goddess, I believe the Durban Poison moniker might be deceptive to some who might shy away from a stronger sativa strain. This strain shouldn’t be attributed with much of the cons of marijuana usage (couch lock, munchies, dazed attitude, etc.) which are side effects of indicas rather than sativas.
That being said, this is a very potent medicinal strain for those suffering with depression and anxiety, who might want to smoke throughout the day while maintaining an active lifestyle. Overall, high quality herb that can cure your blues and put pep in your step!
Great mental awareness, though I was baked; I was still able to go and get my taxes done.
