Great strain to wake and bake. It's like the best cup of coffee without the jitters from too much caffeine. It actually calms my mind from stress a lot and makes me feel much less anxious. One of my favorite Sativa strains.
Dp is a strain that if you get a good one it will be awesome - otherwise it will be something to give to your drinking buddies. The reason is that Dp is a landrace and hard to get right. The one I got from L'Eagle in Denver was perfect both in taste and potency. Durban is the only pot I know that after a few seconds of taking a hit, you won't remember it. Its a must try and second only to White Widow in popularity. ns

Smell: This version of the Durban lineage is very respectable. This was a smell and an instant almost have to buy. I rarely spend this much a gram but it was a great sample of what the high end of this cannabis flower should be. To me, Durban Poison is a slightly unnatural smell for cannabis. A pungent assault almost exclusively its own. Sweet ammonia hazy lemons with a hint of damp earth after a rain storm. Yup, that unique.
Look: Crystal coated, light green and two nice nugs given for my gram. It could use a touch up trim but for how coated the leaf was, I did not bother (rare for me).
Taste: There is almost a Lemon Haze profile here. Not many strains I find taste as good smoked as smelled in raw flower form. This Durban may actually have more of that hazy ammonia taste than smell. Eerie and special.
Recommendation for medicine: Good daytime, get shit done type cannabis. A good one for opening up in social situations, as long as it is not overdone (which is easy to do at 27%+ THC!). If there was an forced island trip soon, only five strains could come with me, this is quickly climbing my fav list and may go with me for the fun in the sandy sun. Definitely a “relax and enjoy life” type of strain.
A while ago I planned a DP grow but was cancelled when the choppers started flying around. About 10 years later I finally got to give DP a try (legally) and I am very, very NOT disappointed. The high is close to a pure Sativa high and compares to Jamaican, and Thai stick landrace.
With Durban, if you choose your product wisely you will be dealing with a stoner's choice product. Dp is best of the best and closely matches Strawberry Cough in popularity. ns
VERY NICE STRAIN I've struggled with my weight and most strain's makes you eat gain more. this strain didn't do that as much I would have small portions of food instead of large quantities. So this is a good straight if you struggle with weight issues, at least for me
I never write reviews...for anything. But I am compelled.
New to Marijuana this year, but after trying maybe 10 different strains I had given up hope to find something that fit my needs. Jet Fuel, Directors Cut, Mango K, Jack H, etc. Nothing really hit the spot. I liked the effects of some but downsides were significant (too giggly, too munchy, paranoia, anxiety inducing, etc). Then I decided to give it one last shot and search for a strain that wouldn't cause munchies as that was top of mind at that moment. I came across DP, and on the very first hit, my god... This is 👌.
Relieves anxiety, makes it easy to get past inertia on hard to do tasks, super focused, creativity increase, kindness increases, amazing productivity, amazing sustained energy, relieves headaches, I dont care about alcohol, appetite suppressing... Hell it even helps with the morning cleanse by acting as a mild laxative at the start.
This is life changing for me. Truly mind blowing how amazing this strain is. 🙌
This is (like a ton of other folks on here) my absolute favorite strain of cannabis. It really is one of the last true pure sativas, and in my opinion the best landrace sativa in the world. I use it throughout the day and it provides me energy and a creative boost, and I also checked the Aroused box because me and my girl use it a lot, it's a great strain for sex especially in a mixture with something else.
This is the first bud I smoked in over 15 years. So basically, my tolerance was nothing. But I used to smoke a LOT so I was familiar with what I should expect. I bought this at a respectable shop... and I gotta say that the commercially developed product with budmasters who know what they are doing make a stunning difference. This stuff is way stronger than most of the bud from the old black market days where you really didn't know what you were getting... usually grown sloppy whatever bag seed in a basement somewhere or trucked over the border from a desert hillside. OK... so the Durban Poison was recommended as a quality sativa which I wanted because I like to stay active, and like the head trip since I'm a cerebral type. I don't like the couch lock feeling. I was cautious since it has been a long time since I smoked... so I took a smallish piece of bud and put it my new pipe. I took a few hesitant light hits, followed by 2 thick, strong ones and a final lighter but good one to finish off the bud. Within minutes I was quite high and giggling to myself thinking "oh yeah, I remember this." But it kept roaring on and soon I was having a full-on mind flush... I mean... God and Satan both tumbled out of the rainbow, stretching the fabric of time-space as they were launching poetry bombs that would effervesce through me in turn. The psycho-active effect in this batch was sizzling. I didn't trip visually but the head-gymnastics took me for a serious ride. Yeah, I over-did it and it was actually quite stressful because I wasn't prepared. I should have take ONE hit and see how it went. But it was fun and I came down gentle over the next 4 to 6 hours (which was nice) and landed on my feet without crashing which was great. I don't think I want to get that high again for awhile unless its a special occasion and I don't have anything to do, but since then, I have taken one or two hits here and there and felt a nice spacey high that was creative, trippy and let me stay engaged in my day. My re-introduction experience makes me want to indulge only occasionally so to keep my tolerance down. That was amazing.
Despite my initial shock, I found Durban Poison to be a great mental trip with lots of energy without immobilizing you and practically no negative effects except maybe a little dizziness. I found that as I was focused working on something, the high would seem to lift. But as I relaxed, it would return. Strong quality kava-kava root had a similar effect on me.
